AXA an insurance company that is base in France, has conducted a survey in the Asia-Pacific region to find out who are the most optimistic.

According to the survey India leads with 87.2%, Philippines ranks second with 85%.

The least optimistic is Singapore with 59.2%

Approximately a year ago, a web IM system called Wablet has received some flack due to it’s being develop in the Philippines.

So all my IM passwords get sent to the Philippines?

Some new readers probably never knew about this but I would like to point out how some Westerners perceived our country in light of the Desperate Housewives scandal.

Living in the US and getting to know different people from different cultures, this article does indeed point out that most Filipinos do indeed misunderstand the Koreans. Koreans tend to stick together (maybe because of they’re not comfortable with English as much) if they’re going out to eat, mall, etc. and this may have labeled them as the article states.

But I beg to differ, Filipinos in groups are also tend to be noisy too, especially tourists. And for some odd reason, Filipinos somehow learn to somewhat discipline themselves and obey the laws more when they go to other countries.

This seems to be the first time that there’s a lot of tourist in the Philippines and that’s why other people may feel uncomfortable about this, but tourist being “noisy and undisciplined” is quite the norm.

Because of their behavior many Filipino businessmen do not welcome the presence of Koreans in their establishments.

Interesting that the Vatican has published 10 Commandments for Drivers.
Adopting this in the Philippines should be interesting. Maybe more drivers wil now listen because the Vatican had said so. Also it will probably help MMDA chairman Bayani Fernando.

The Drivers’ Ten Commandments

1. You shall not kill.

2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.

3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.

4. Be charitable and help your neighbor in need, especially victims of accidents.

5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.

6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.

7. Support the families of accident victims.

8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.

9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.

10. Feel responsible toward others.
