Interesting to note that the French are starting to take notice of the Philippines.
First there was this show called Koh-Lanta, a Survivor type show. Koh-Lanta: Palawan has the highest viewership of the show with about 9 million viewers. The host has noted that the experience that he had in Palawan is “two of the best” the other being New Caledonia. A Filipina blogger has pointed out that this show has helped her a bit…
Well, at the school, my teacher and European classmates asked me about Philippines and to describe them how it is… This program has helped me in a way that people here will have some knowledge about Philippines like how beautiful it is, how kind and welcoming the people are and how abundant we are to have these beautiful and wonderful nature. – Petite Cherie
The series ended in September but if you like to watch it, you may do so via streaming video (after the break)
Caméra Café
On another note, a French Producer has stated the Philippine version of Caméra Café top his his list. Based on an exclusive interview with the Inquirer he stated:
“I’ve been to a lot of countries [and] seen the different versions. But, for me, the best is the Pinoy cast.” “The Filipinos are even better than the original French cast—who are my friends!”
What we don’t see in everyday life does not mean it’s not there or we don’t need to preserve it. This is especially true about our marine life. Even though some of us don’t have the luxury to dive, to check the what our sea has to offer, scubamagazine.net was kind enough to bring you marine life in HD from the Philippines. Enjoy.
In the world of biological science, the Philippines is pretty important. It is seen as a hotspot, no not a Wi-Fi hotspot but as a biodiversity hotspot teeming with life. And being so, the chances of finding incredible to new species to science are great.
Manila, Philippines (AHN) - Chinese businessmen are looking for a suitable island in the Philippines where rich chief executives could retire and spend their millions.
Business Mirror reported that the Global CEO Club, which counts 1,000 of China’s elites as its members, has been scouting for an island at least 810 hectares which could be developed into a high-end exclusive Chinese village.
Jing Ping Li, Global CEO Club chief, said the ultra wealthy members agreed to pool their resources and fund the development of the community where they intend to live after retirement. Based on the blueprint, the island will be developed into a high-end integrated village with its own airport, hotels, hospitals and nursing homes, among others.
The group originally planned to look for a place on the Chinese resort island of Hainan, but that place is already crowded. The land values are also prohibitive, running at a staggering $25 million per hectare.
With the reported planned investment, Chinese businessmen are apparently not discouraged by the national broadband network deal fiasco where a supply agreement with Chinese telecom giant ZTE Co. was unilaterally cancelled by the Philippine government.
Li said older Chinese chief executives prefer the tropical climate to cold areas like Beijing and that makes the Philippines the perfect place to build a retirement complex.
Li is in Manila with a Chinese delegation to inspect the areas where the multi-billion dollar village could be built. The investors may have to partner with local groups for the ambitious development project as Philippine laws restrict ownership of lands by foreigners.
